It had been a while since I checked on the two littlest girls (ages 2 and 4). As I got closer to their room I could hear them chatting busily to each other.
Me: What'ch'all doing in there?
4-year-old (matter-of-factly): I'm changing the baby's diaper.
Me (trying to sound non-chalant): Oh, really?
I walk in the door to find both girls in the little one's crib. Arranged around them are diapers, wipes, and Boudreaux's Butt Paste. The job is much farther along than I had anticipated.
Me (to self): Remain calm, remain calm.
4-year-old: See? I almost got all the poopy off!
This is the child that "decorated" her sister for Easter.
Should I be afraid?

he, he, he. I posted a little while ago about bum cream, too. Great minds. Only I haven't arrived at patience yet.
The "decorated" face is very funny and so cute.
I'd say not to worry - they're trying to help, and they're very resourceful and creative, not to mention team-players (working together to change a diaper). All things that will work for their benefit as they grow up. :)
Nah. Celebrate the initiative she displayed. She'll probably make a great mama some day!
What a helpful daughter! I hope her help wasn't too messy. I love her face in that picture. I can't help but wonder how you got the stickers off. I guess its good it wasn't permanent marker!
hehehe! I am one to be very glad not to change a poopy diaper, however I think I would be nervous too!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Sounds like daughter is following Mom's good mothering example to me! Nothing to worry about here!
I LOVE that picture. What a funny one.
Ok that is really funny!
My 3-year-old got into the crib and decorated his 1-year-old sister with ink and stamps (complete with footprints on the sheets and everything) while I was out and my husband was in bed with the flu.
At least yours were trying to be helpful :)
