Bedtime prayers - Princess Bride style

It was awfully loud in the little girls' room, it being tuck-in time and all.

I could tell there was a lot of tickling, giggling and crazy joke-telling going on in there - all the tell-tale signs that Daddy was in charge of bedtime tonight.

As the volume got increasingly higher and higher, I moved closer to the door. Things were going downhill fast.

Now I could hear Daddy quoting that great philosophical genius Vizzini, from that deep well of after-midnight humor, The Princess Bride:

"No more rhyming and I mean it!"

More peals of laughter. The girls were really getting into it. I was imagining they were talking about Rodents of Unusual Size or climbing the Cliffs of Insanity.

I edged closer to the door. Things momentarily got quiet. The little one was about to pray.

Solemnly, with hands folded and eyes shut tight, she began:

"Dear Jesus."

[Long comedic pause]

"Anybody want a peanut?"

That is too funny! I am like the only person in the world that does not like that movie. I am glad they had fun. I used to love to get silly at night before bed. SO many memories! :)
