I couldn't sleep at all last night

Our five-year-old couldn't sleep last night. She came into our room around 1:00 a.m. wanting to sleep on the floor. After years of battling this phenomenon with the three older kids, I have given up - we keep a sleeping bag in our room. Chances are, someone will come in in the night and need it.

In my groggy state, I unrolled the sleeping bag for her, but I didn't realize how many of her "friends" she had brought along.

The final count:

Pillows - 2
Blankets - 2
Stuffed animals - 7

"How many trips did it take you to get all your stuff?" I asked her this morning.

"Just one for the animals. But when I went back to my room for the pillows, I picked up all the animals I dropped."

That is cute!
I feel kind of bad since I was much more strict with my first daughter about not coming into bed with us. But with my second (who co-slept with us as a baby) I have much more tolerent. Not fair, I know!
Maybe because after the first, we moms are just plain tired! Much easier to just let them come on in so we can get our beauty sleep! ;)

So cute... I love how much the animals mean to children. Don't tell anyone, but I still have my old Teddy in a box waiting for Elijah. Great picture.
