It was worth the trouble of shopping

I'll try to get these pictures to load properly.

Here we are - we had a break in the heat so it was only a balmy 94 last night at my niece's wedding.

The kids were absolute angels. A few well-timed mints and a couple of small notebooks in the purse kept the little ones occupied. The only problem was when the two year old kept patting Grandma in the row ahead, then (as I was watching the wedding party exit) she went around the pew, fully expecting to be ushered out with Grandma in the "family row." Had to make a quick snatch over the pew.

The girls LOVED dressing up, but mostly they enjoyed sampling everyone's food and drinking red punch without a sippy cup.

The reception was so sweet - father-daughter dance(s) and even a brief brother-sister one.

Our twelve-year-old caught the bridal bouquet. My husband said she had to wait one year for every rose in the bouquet.

When he found out there were only five, he upped it to every FLOWER in the bouquet.

Much better.

I even got a dance with a handsome guy.

My sister-in-law and I agreed that these heels were much too high for dancing, though!
All the fun was so right - celebrating a relationship of two people committed to Christ and to each other - for life.

How it's supposed to be.

How special! You all looked so wonderful....and such a great family photo!!! Seeing the two siblings dancing together like that got me all misty. I have a girl and two boys and I hope they'll be able to do that one day...right now they don't even like to hug...LOL.

You guys look terrific! I bought my then 3-yr-old son a little suit last summer the week before my brother's wedding - and when he put it on, on the wedding day itself, he'd OUTGROWN IT! Obviously, all of your kids managed to stay the same size for a week!

Ahhh... the pictures we've all been waiting for! You guys look fantastic. Love the little black dress. Does this have the makings of Christmas Card '06?
Bravo, mom.

Beautiful!!!!! Just what we were all waiting for. So will it be wedding photos or beach photos that make the Christmas card cut?

I love the one year for every flower...I'm going to file that one away. The wedding looks lovely, and you are right - just the way it should be. What a great thing for your kids to see and be a part of.
