I'll try to get these pictures to load properly.
Here we are - we had a break in the heat so it was only a balmy 94 last night at my niece's wedding.
The kids were absolute angels. A few well-timed mints and a couple of small notebooks in the purse kept the little ones occupied. The only problem was when the two year old kept patting Grandma in the row ahead, then (as I was watching the wedding party exit) she went around the pew, fully expecting to be ushered out with Grandma in the "family row." Had to make a quick snatch over the pew.
The girls LOVED dressing up, but mostly they enjoyed sampling everyone's food and drinking red punch without a sippy cup.
The reception was so sweet - father-daughter dance(s) and even a brief brother-sister one.
Our twelve-year-old caught the bridal bouquet. My husband said she had to wait one year for every rose in the bouquet.
When he found out there were only five, he upped it to every FLOWER in the bouquet.
I even got a dance with a handsome guy.
My sister-in-law and I agreed that these heels were much too high for dancing, though!
All the fun was so right - celebrating a relationship of two people committed to Christ and to each other - for life.
How it's supposed to be.
