My sister is joining me in the blog world...soon

My sister Rachel is my best friend.

As she is fond of saying, we have no memories of childhood without each other, right there, holding hands (unless, of course, we were drawing the imaginary line dividing the bed we shared most of our growing up!). We were a twosome through bad haircuts and bad fashions...through fad diets and girlhood crushes.

I loved her then, but little did I know the beauty of a friendship that would deepen even more. We've hung with each other through our marriages, jobs, babies, miscarriages and child raising.

She's always been one step ahead of me, taking what comes with a great sense of humor and looking at life's transitions through the lens of faith. She's been been through two of those just this year: watching one daughter graduate and another get married.

I get to watch and learn.

And soon you will, too!

She's still putting the finishing touches on her blog.

In the meantime, you can be tantalized by Rachel's amazing art by visiting her family business's website, Artifex Studio. In addition to hearing a little bit of her wit and wisdom, she promises that she will share some how-to's with those of us lacking in artistic talent (I'll be taking notes, too, believe me!).

I can't wait to introduce you!

Thanks so much for your comment on my LJ! God's been so cool to prepare me, although last week He also reminded my heart that there's NO way i can plan my way out of being broken. i think i was starting to think that if i was really careful to watch out for pitfalls, i wouldn't fall into them. . . but doubtless, part of His plan includes pain and uncertainty. but He'll still be there, so it's okay with me! (i say that now. . . :-P). Anyway, sounds like you had a cool God-filled college experience! Where did you go?

Sounds like your discipline styles are well thought out and effective- I love reading about your family! I love you humble you are about growing and how much joy you obviously take in your life!!! THAT ROCKS!!!

Ok, I am in awe. I visited your sister's site and cannot believe how artistically talented she is. Wow! If only I had the talent, or money to hire her. Consider me thoroughly impressed and I look forward to meeting her.
