On theology and potty training

When I can't find my two-year-old I usually know where to look:

Behind the recliner in my living room. Squatting.

If I realize she's been missing for only a short time I can rush her to the potty. But being the distracted person I am, usually, I am too late.

As I change her, she says (in her Sylvester the Cat lisp): "We put our poopy in the potty. It's nasty."

Yes, we do. Or rather, we should.

She could write along with the Apostle Paul:
I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Romans 7:18
Doesn't she know that all she has to do is come to me and I will help her?

Yes, all she has to do is give her "load" to me:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Ah, well, I know, eventually, she will get tired of her burden.

And she will give it to me.

One way or another!

I almost threw a party when my last was out of diapers.
Good analogy:)

What a great analogy!! Its a good reminder for all of us that God just wants to help us with our "load". =) *Sigh* I can't even contemplate starting potty training yet.

Okay I'm pretty sure you are the only person creative enough to combine potty training and a Godly lesson...good on you!!

I'm so glad I'm done with potty training.

LOL! That was so cute. My youngest is 2, will be 3 in February. I've been putting off potty training her until school started. Now I have no more excuses. I will remember your encouraging words when we struggle down the road to pottydom.

Hysterical! Actually, I have an almost 4 year old who still won't poop on the potty! She usually asks very nicely for a pull-up, though. I guess that's something...

Oh Kathering--you're so funny.

And you're almost done with diapers, girl! Hang in there. I predict you'll be out of them by...March?? (That probably wasn't too encouraging, huh?) I sooo don't look forward to this again. :)

hehe, I can *SO* relate! Right now I only have one not trained, and he will be two next month. Soon I will be in throws of all of that for the sixth and last (so it seems) time.

This is my son. He is 3 and having some difficulty with pooping on the potty. He would rather poop in his underpants. I know one day it will click in his head and he will be home free.

Brillant. Good theology and good analogy. :)

Wow, I totally feel your pain. Joshua is about to start the potty training. Only he likes to PLAY in the potty instead of peeing in it. :)

She looks like my daughter in her Snow White dress. I had to do a double-take!

My 18 mos. old does the same thing! She says, "poopy" then squats down in from of me to poo. Then, she grabs her diaper and says poopy, poopy. I keep saying if your going to tell me your going to poop then do it on the potty already!

Someday...

Oh that is way too funny! I am going through that right now with my little one. He will be 3 at Christmastime, and he has no desire WHATSOEVER to do the biggie where he should. He tee tees for lack of a better word like a champ in the bathroom, but never the other.

She's a little doll in her costume.
