'Twas the Night Before Wednesday - A Poetic Tribute to WFMW

‘Twas the night before Wednesday, and all o’er the house,
All the family was busy, organizing themselves.
"Pick up twice your age! Stop all this stewing!
It works for Kim C. (with all her EIGHT kids)! She knows what she’s doing!"

Towel hooks were hung, as Owlhaven said to do,
And toothbrush racks cut for the Raising Five crew.
Baking soda was added to the large pot of beans
Because Michelle said if we did it, we’d let off less steam.
Sheets were all folded with the pillow case just so,
Toiletries were organized in a pot by the window.
And gardening was done with oh, so much care,
But who could do it like Carol, with such good-looking flair??

The grapes were all frozen, and bananas, too,
(Tips passed along by I can't remember who)
A specialized cleaner to clean dirt and poo,
And butter dish was bought because Nettie said to.The medicines were organized in cute little bins,
Short ones and tall ones to put everything in.
More hooks were hung - but what in tarnation?
Org Junkie said it was easy - a great backpack station!

The carpets were cleaned, stains were erased,
Grocery items bought - buy two, just in case!
The word lists of Scrabble were studied by the ton,
In hopes that some day Katherine could beat Blest with Sons!

The tips just came rolling in faster and stronger
And soon the Raising Five family was disorganized no longer.
By midnight (a few months later) the house looked so much nicer,
Just in time for another visit to Rocks in My Dryer!

So hurry up, ladies, get in your post!
Happy Wednesday to all - got a good tip for roast?

:) Loved your poem. My roast tip is this-stick it in the crock pot with soy sauce and veggies.
Thanks for saying I looked like 25 during my crises yesterday:) I'm not but it made me feel good and laugh.
I really need to do something with kids backpack. I'm starting to plot what wall I'm going to use. The coats are going to be coming soon too:( Your hook system looks great. I'm going to have to check out org junkie. she sounds like a genius!

Katherine, that's hilarious! And how smart are you to actually use all those good ideas? I just read 'em, think "Hey, that's smart", and then go about living my wildly disorganized life...

This was a great recap, I missed the clay pot idea somehow but I love it. You are very talented & it reminds us how much we learn from wfmw

Your toooooo creative! How cute was that! I love the clay pot you found! And roast. Put in the crockpot with chopped onions, barbque sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic. Slice thin and serve on buns.

Oh Kathrine, that was just oh-so-creative and absolutely hilarious! I love that you show that the tips actually are applicable to you. That is exactly what this WFMW is all about!

But I notice you didn't use my stain tip... yeah, it's probably a great thing that you didn't...

What fun!! Such a cute post!

And yes, I have a tip for roast. Cook it in a crock pot (with a crock pot liner) and throw in Lipton Onion Soup mix. It is delicious and super easy! :D

So cute! :) And you're always so creative, too!

No WFMW or even Wordless Wednesday for me today...very busy withour first week back to homeschooling...but wanted to take a few mintues to catch up on a few blogs!

As for roasts, I usually do mine in a large roasting pan, with lots of carrots, little potatoes, onions, and garlic peices....yummy and easy!

Super poem! And I feel so famous to be mentioned!!! :)

As for pot roast-- I always stick mine in the crock pot, smother with cream of mushroom soup and sprinkle Lipton onion soup mix over it. Add some water and there ya go!

What talent you have! Adorable!

Way to go K! Oh how I love thee talent...

As for the roast, my mom always says to buy the cheapest cut of meat with the least amount of fat. Not sure why but she says it always turns out better. :)

And, I do the Lipton Onion Soup Mix as well.

Roast is just plain yummy done in the crockpot...or one of those cooking bags?

Just stumbled across your blog through a link on the blog of a friend of a blog of mine...no wait...that's not right...

Muchly enjoyed your poetic musings, and all the lovely organizing tips passed on from all and sundry.

Wow. That's such a cool idea! But how LONG did it take you??? And the house looks great.

Awesome poem! And about that roast - stick it in the Crockpot and pour in a small jar of Italian Dressing. Dust with salt and pepper, put the lid on it, and don't worry about it for at least six hours. De-lic-shus!
