Get my laugh back

I just read today that laughter peaks at age four. Richard Swenson's Overload Syndrome states that average four-year-old laughs once every four minutes, or 400 times per day.

I suppose, then, since our daughter is five, she must still be somewhere in the 375 laughs per day range. Maybe once every four and a half minutes.

So it's no wonder, when she had a cough this week, she was gravely concerned. She couldn't laugh without it turning into a cough.

After one particularly distressing fit of coughing, she turned to me in all seriousness and said, "Mom, when do you think I'll get my laugh back?"

(I could ask myself the same question sometimes!)

"Soon, Sweetie, real soon."

Love the post. They always say laughter is ther best medicine, so tell her to just keep on trying to laugh. Hope she gets her laugh back soon!!

Now I know why I loved it when my kids were four.

And I still have one more who will turn four in two years. Yeah!

4 year old laughter is so contagious.
But, question: I can't laugh without ending up in a coughing fit EVER. What does this mean? :)
