Okay, so I'm not that great at puns, but I'm on a painting roll. Before the paint was dry in the
little girls' room, I bought paint for another project - my very plain, very blah portable kitchen island.

I wiped it all down with a liquid sander. Then I used Kilz natural colors spray paint (available at Walmart) - three cans of their black, which I like because it's not a "jet" black.

Then, a little sandpaper to the edges for the "distressed" look (which all my furniture gets, whether I do it on purpose or not!), and voila!

So fun - and now my 70s kitchen has a teensy bit more counter space!
Hmm, what's next?

That looks great! I am always afraid to try things like that for fear of messing up, but this inspires me!
Ok, I just love what you did with that!! I may have to borrow that idea and use it for my own!!
That looks AWESOME. I'm actually about to paint all my kitchen cabinets black!

Okay, you have got to STOP. You're making me feel WAY behind! :)
I do love it, though. Great job. Now....go rest! :)
Very impressive...I am so not handy that way at all! Love the girls "lovin" on each other!

The island is beautiful, but what I love most is the picture of your girls hugging in the foreground. So cute!
SUch a great and creative idea! I have never heard of liquid sander--thanks for the tip.
That LOOKS GREAT!
Now that is classy - I love it! And so simple!
You know, when you get on a painting roll, it's good to keep going until you crash, cause you never know when you'll feel like doing it again!
Good job and a chic choice of color!
