The shape of things to come

As if my laundry room didn't get enough of a workout each week, now it's becoming the workout room?

He turned twelve, and there was a sudden interest in muscles. I'm called upon to admire their growth at least once daily. I suppose I'm going to have to get used to this sight.

At least he's inspiring his sisters. And (albeit grudgingly at first) sharing his new chin-up bar.
Note there are no pics of Mom doing chin-ups. It is painful enough for me to show you the armpit of my house, let alone my own (lack of) upper body musculature. You love me anyway, right?

Boys are funny when they hit that age. Anything and everything becomes an item to build their muscles.

Now the trick for you is to get him trained to throw a load in while he's there.

My little girl is already flexing to show how strong she is. I think we'll probably be installing a chin-up bar too, someday. Probably about the time her friends are installing sweet little ballet bars.

I'm laughing because I have one that age too - he's more worried about how his hair looks and his muscles than food anymore!!! I love to watch them grow!!

that dress that your littlest girl is wearing, the blue and white striped one, is that from Old Navy? Because I think we have the same one in pink and white stripes! It was a hand me down from a friend in California and both of my girls have worn it.

Just wait! My middle one just hit 6 ft 3 ½ inches! He LOVES to drape himself over my shoulders to make SURE I know he is so much taller than his mom. Throw a load in the washer Susanne? I don't think the males in my house even know there IS a washer!

Ofcourse, we love you anyway! I don't have boys, so I can't identify, but I love how your girls are getting in on the action.

Hi. I'm a first time commenter here. I love your blog!

I thought he was hanging up a rack to hang the clothes up in the laundry room! Ha!
