No, it's not an Easter egg

It's hail, from yesterday's storm. These look like seashells, as though they'd been hurtled through the air in a circular motion.
And here's the kids' favorite, a heart.

Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
Job 37:16

That is some huge hail. My kids would have loved that. I'm sure the cars didn't!

Well, in a way they actually were hurtled through the air in circular motion. Hail forms when raindrops pass through a cold layer of air and freeze, then get tossed back up by a blast of air, fall again through the cold layer to freeze another layer on, then drop down again... Repeat the sequence over and over until the hail stone is too heavy to be blown back up again, and it falls down to earth. Those buggers had to take a lot of trips around to get that BIG! SO there you have it.

Thank you for thinking about me when you offered over the thinking award. I am humbled. I love sharing Ivey with the world.

Yesterday I had Ivey in Atlanta for some doctors appointment and got stuck in rush hour traffic on 285---in a hail storm. It was nothing compared to this...more like raisins.

Oh my hail! ;) (I couldn't resist.) Those are huge and fascinating and beautiful - I never thought of hail coming in shapes or swirls...How very cool.
