Best friends for a lifetime

Our kids have no idea what "BFF" really means.

We had fun then...
We have fun now (does this picture look familiar?) - even when it's just washing the poison ivy off our feet...

Life is just good when your sister is your best girl friend.

Love you, Rachel Anne! It just gets better and better.

Katherine, you brought tears to my eyes this morning! I am so grateful for you...who else could have helped me through my teenage pimples and calorie counting, to diapers and parenting and fighting the battle with gray hair? I just love you.

Raising Five readers, Katherine is just as nice in person as she is on her blog. It's hard to share her with so many of you, but she makes a great blog-sister to ya'll too, so I will. She's a treasure.

ps hope no one has poison ivy

Aaawww! You two are the loveliest sisters and two of my favorite bloggers!

I hope to have or adopt two girls somedays so I can experience having a sister vicariously through them! :) So special!

This is so wonderful! It makes me realize just how important sisters are. My sisters and mom are also my best friends and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Now if only I could get my 4 daughters to be so close instead of fighting like cats and dogs EVERY DAY

How very blessed you two are, to have each other!

And gorgeous, too, by the way!

How sweet! I hope my girls have a similar relationship. What a blessing having close relationships w/siblings is!

Oh, I totally agree. It took a long time for me and my sis to get to this. We didn't get along as teens and young adults, we were just too different. But the Lord really brought us together after we were both saved and after both of us became moms.

I LOVE your new profile photo! Very cute! (now if someone could just explain to me how to get my profile photo to be on the comments that I leave...that's MY current mystery....)

I've been reading you for almost the entire time you've been blogging, and I sooo admire your visions for your family - to raise them in the joy of the Lord. Looking forward to getting to "know" you better...

Have to delurk for this one. I think sister relationships are the one of the most amazing blessings God dishes out. Your post touched me even more because today I was blessed with the opportunity to be photographed with my sister. We live in the same town but only for a little while longer. She's preparing to move over 1000 miles away. Such cruelty shouldn't be allowed!

I love reading your blog. I've printed off many of your entries for future reference.

Blessings~

I love love love your new profile pic - and the pics in this post! You're so lovely, as is Rachel, and I totally agree with you that life is just good when your sister is your best girl friend. :) (Abbie is mine - love her to death and beyond)

I've never before seen anyone look quite so polished and elegant as they wash poison ivy off of their feet! How blessed you both are to have each other.

I have no idea how I stumbled upon your blog. We don't have much in common except for being women and moms. I'm a big city girl (oh yes, Catholic), and, well, older then you all. I have two sons and two brothers, I've been surrounded by boys so seeing your picture today was fun, you two are both beautiful, inside and out.
I enjoy your blog. I wish we would have been into blogging back when I was raising my kids, I think yours would have helped me! I sent it on to my niece however. If you ever check out my blog, you will see that I'm in a totally different place then you are. But I still enjoy your writing. Enjoy every moment as it all goes by much too quickly.
Best wishes,
Cathyb

What a blessing! I don't have any sisters, but I'm close to my brothers, which is nice, too. I'm so pleased that my girls have sisters, though!
