Course of action: ZAP

Well, the week is coming to an end here, and I'm trying in vain to keep up. My mind is still percolating about setting my course. How did I get here? What would have I done differently? What if I don't have a mentor or role model? What if I've made a mess of things?

Problem is, I'm thinking about all this stuff while I'm taking kids to swim team practice, going to the grocery store, breaking up WWIII discussions among siblings, and (gasp!) realizing Annie's birthday is Monday (she'll be 6). I don't think I'm going to get much time to put my ponderings on paper until next week.

I did spend a bit of time pondering the fate of the evil vermin who have multiplied fiendishly in my back yard, what with torrential rains this month combined with a few pets who seem to think the yard is their personal WC (the nerve!).

Here is the course I've set for them:

Yes, you, too can gleefully enjoy the crackle of crisp little arthropod bodies as they meet their Maker. It's the Flowtron Model BK-40D Electronic Insect Killer (One Acre Coverage so my neighbors can thank me, too). Only $39.95 (with free Super-Saver shipping) on Amazon. Best investment I've made all year.

Who needs entertainment when you have one of these??

It's amazing how kids are fascinated by these things. We have a neighbor across the street and about 4 houses down with one of those and in the evenings if our windows are open that things is zapping constantly. Took us a while to figure out what that sound was. :vD

Which just goes to show you that, if you don't stay thoughtful and carefully set your course, someone else will set one for you, and it may not have the finish you would have wanted!

I spent quite a few of my growing-up years in Wisconsin (lake country=mosquitos). Seeing that picture, I can just hear that "zzzzzzzt" and recall the ambiance of summer nights in our neighborhood. Can you call that ambiance? It's kind of like a cross between humming cicadas and fireworks, so I guess so... It was all just a part of the sound landscape, until you think about it being the "crackle of crisp little arthropod bodies as they meet their maker," then it felt more like sitting helplessly in a war zone or watching a tragic play.

Still raining down there?

Our son is fascinated with these gadgets. He loves to sit on the boat dock and watch it for hours. He's 35.

I can't wait to catch up on all that I've missed in your world (that quote to a young mother looks VERY much up my alley), but in the meantime, I'm awarded you a little prize! Stop on by to see!

How strange--I hate bugs. I really hate bugs. Here is my problem of late--I can't kill 'em. In my heart of hearts I can't squish or anything. I always feel sorry for them. I am on a cane and I can squish them without them even knowing what hit them--but of late I can't kill 'em.

For some silly reason I have been introduced to Buddha--I am not changing my faith or anything I just can't kill a bug.

In my heart of hearts I have no problem alerting the cat of the roach on the floor or my hubby of the bug in the tub--I just can't kill 'em.

I have no problem about letting them scurry on by. Live and let live. It must be my age or my new lease on life.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey, I just bought one of those at Home Depot a few weeks back.

Our's is still in the box.

I reminded Hub's that he may want to hang that up soon, as he was swating flies off his hamburger while we tried to enjoy and outdoor family meal.

He said he will hang it up tomorrow.

How is yours working? I think we have the same model.
