Remodel update

Here are some pics of the last couple of days around here. Ruthie (4) will be our gracious (if not a little silly) tour guide today. Starting upstairs:

Ruthie is excited that her bunk bed is back up. She misses her pink room, but everything is now Kilim Beige (Sherwin Williams color) around here. A little blah, but if it sells the house...

No curtains, minimal decorations, hardly any furniture (we're trying to fool people into thinking we don't really live here - or at least that seven of us aren't crammed in here, remember?).

And here's my 1973 entry fixture that I spray painted black with a spritz of brown for that rusty bronze look (more Kilim Beige in the background):

The master bathroom is about to get a facelift. The countertops get travertine tile (remnants for cheap) and funky bowls for sinks. I think Ruthie will need a stool to be able to spit when she brushes her teeth. The mirror is also going to get a frame.

The kitchen floor came out nicely, although I kept telling the tile guy I wanted the grout to be "Color of Dirt." Surely they make that color, don't they? This is way too light for me, but hey, I'm moving. I'm just glad it's not blue anymore. The countertops are getting tiled tomorrow, too.

Things are coming together. The POD is filling up. I can see the light (now if the dust would just settle!!).

Your house is going to sell lickety split and then all this will be soooo worth it.

Color of dirt tile does exist because I have it on my floors or maybe I just have dirt.

The house is looking good, glad the big stuff is done and now you just have to pretend you don't live there...but keep thinking that you may not be there long.

If this house doesn't sell quickly, I will be shocked.

Maybe Ruthie will have her own HGTV show soon.

Ruthie is an AWESOME tour guide - she should have one of those HGTV shows.
Your house looks really great, too - I'm sure it's going to sell RIGHT AWAY.

Ruthie did an excellent job as a tour guide! She probably has a career as a model in the near future! :)

Love the light fixture! Great job, you crafty thing you!
I agree with the dirt colored grout, it's much easier that way!

It looks amazing! I know the hassle and inconvenience will all be worth it when you get that "sold" call. Beautiful home, Katherine!

Ah, much better. Everything looks simple and plain and I guess that's the point, huh?

Tell me more about that frame on the mirror. I want one but don't know how they do that. (Seems those tabs are in the way?)

Well done so far! All is coming together. It is amazing to look back on these past few posts and I didn't even live them! "Time keeps on ticking..." hopefully not another tune on guitar solo...(whatever that Is! I assume a game? I am so '80's!)

And does "Jen" know she is a poet, or was it an accident?! That is talent! :)
