A view from the Cliffs of Insanity

Here I am (don't you recognize me?), halfway up the Cliffs of Insanity: Here's Dennis trying to make lunches (why bother going in the kitchen; it's covered in an inch of dust).

The girls' room (as an example of what they ALL look like):Our room (in which, after clearing debris, ALL SEVEN of us slept last night!):
But the kitchen is coming along nicely (they finished laying the floor tile, and today they will grout it):

And Ruthie (4) can still find her dressup clothes (Cowboy is a reluctant Prince Charming).

So we're good.

Thank you for sharing! Believe it or not it is a blessing to me to see the marks in the dust on your dresser! We have been living in a new home for 18 mo. now and have a terrible dust problem due to some poor construction...I think I'm going insane trying to raise 3 young children in the mess and constant in and out of contractors trying to solve our problem. If you can all 7 sleep in one cluttered bedroom, we 5 can also endure this upheaval in our lives. This too shall pass!!

Princess clothes and NO R.O.U.S.'s. AS long as you don't also have R.O.U.S.'s, you're good. The state of your house right now would drive me nuts! Hang in there, Katherine. Eyes on the prize, Violet.

(Name THAT movie =). )

As another mom in a constant state of remodel...I love the updates. I find comfort knowing I am not the only mom trying to live like that. ;o) Someday this will be funny.

Well, at least Ruthie and Cowboy are carefree and happy go lucky! Your new tile is looking great as is the paint color. Hopefully it will all be over soon.

Keep looking at the picture of what you want your view to be...you're a few steps ahead of me in realestate land...so I'm keeping an eye on you!!

Oh goodness! I'm LOL-chaos does that to me. I can't imagine moving, although we are quickly outgrowing our small house and I see a move on the horizon. Hang in there. It sounds like your keeping you sense of humor and as long as the dress up clothes can be found it can't be that bad right?!

Oh my!! But think of the beauty afterwords...you might not even want to move when you get done remodeling! LOL!

Oh my, we are going through a similiar situation with a house on the market and messes of trying to make it "perfect" to make someone else happy. We have lived for 6 years without trim around the hardwood floors, but now decide it is time to do it. I am sick of realtors, sick of dust and sick of having my house in "ready to show" condition with a 4 year old and 21 month old twins.

It is so refreshing to see that someone else is going through the same thing.

Thank you for inspiring me and God bless us both as we learn to be VERY strong and trust God to lead us in the right direction.

I can't wait to sit in a clean house with a cup of tea, a beautiful wooded lot view and be done with all of this!

I feel your pain, sister. We will be moving in about three weeks, so I too am about to enter the land of cardboard boxes and packing tape.

Maybe the weather will be nice and you guys can dine outside until the construction zone is cleared.

Keep that eye on the prize (i.e. the country view!).

I love the last picture of your daughter leading the dog in her dress up clothes. It took me back to when my three beautiful children were little. Thanks for the reminder of how precious that was.

Love the picture commentary!

You are definitely not the envy of all of us right now...BUT most definitely a matter of prayer!

Katherine,

I LOVE the reference to Princess Bride. No more dust and I mean it. Anybody want a peanut?

Love you!
