Party time

Because we are crazy (it wouldn't have anything to do with lack of organization, or lack of weekends left before we move...), we are venturing into the world of the double-header party. Actually, it will be a triple header, if you include closing on the sale of our home today at 2:00 p.m. You'll be hearing my hootin' and hollerin' all the way from the title company! Woo hoo!

Libby(10) is inviting her group of three best buds to go rock climbing. It's one of her favorite outings, and (lucky for us) Friday night is student night, so it's even cheaper than going to the movies.

I volunteered Dennis to be the pack mule belayer. He's always good for dealing with a carload of preteens, so let's see how he does with a bunch of them 20 feet up on a rock wall. While Libby's group is gone, four of Annie's (6) kindergarten classmates will be coming over for a "sleepover." (Will see how many actually spend the night!). Annie was concerned that we didn't have a decent selection of nail color for manicures, so I will head to the dollar store this morning and stock up. Allie(14) gets to be the resident stylist for tonight's affair.

Libby (the Organized One) made up the "agenda" for her sister's party:
Fortunately Libby will not be there for most of it, so when things don't go in the order she dictated envisioned, she won't have to get all bent out of shape.

I am such a sucker for little hands and kindergarten handwriting, so for party favors, we are going to decorate pillow cases with each of the girls' handprints and "signatures." I'll post pictures if they come out as cute as I dictate envision.

The girls have such nice friends here. Looking at the stack of boxes around me, it would be easy for me to say, "I don't have time for this!" But when it comes down to it, I want them to move with the fondest of memories of their old neighborhood. A little mess and a little chaos will be worth it. At least that's what I tell myself!

Now off to get as much done as I can before the insanity begins!

YAY for closing on the house!

I can not even believe how much you guys have planned for the day/weekend! I would be curled up in a ball somewhere.

But have fun!

I can't believe how calm you are with all that is going on around you. I would be a mess and I am only Raising Two.

Wow -nothing like adding 2 parties on top of all the things you're already doing, LOL! But you're right - it will be worth it because of the precious memories. Love the rock climbing idea!
