Almost three weeks post-move, we are pretty much sick of unpacking. Mostly because the remodeling work continues, and things are just dirty around here. Who wants to clean, unpack, then have to clean what you just unpacked again? Boxes are my friends.
Libby-10 helped Dennis and me get the shutters up:
Wasn't sure if I'd need a shutter for that itty-bitty bathroom window in the middle, but I think I will put a little one up there. The blinds came today, so that's our next "fun" project. Then on to landscaping. Woo hoo!
Don't forget the "before:"One bathroom floor got tiled, and the other one is getting grouted today. No more falling through the rotted floorboards!
And the kids have been making their own fun.
This desk may look like a case of we-didn't-know-where-to-put-it-so-let's-just-
leave-it-here-in-the- middle-of-the-room, but on closer inspection, you will see that it is the check in desk for the Raising Five Babysitting Service. Note the check-in stickers courtesy of our Organizer Child (Libby).
As you see, we are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Even Ruthie-4 gets to wear a nametag. And no, B.S. does not mean what you think it does, even though it's behind my name. Get it right, folks. Everyone knows it stands for Baby Sitter.
I suppressed a lump in my throat as I pushed a crying Annie-6 out the door to go to her very first softball camp. The older kids are also signed up for sports camps here in our new town, and despite their fears, they are making some friends and are having a good time.
And here's my Impulse Purchase for the summer. The kids have already been in it for hours, even though it's not even hip-deep for the big kids. This kind of fun together makes it worth it all.
