Bookmarks, readers, and MY OWN DOMAIN NAME!

After a lengthy fight with technical difficulties, I'm happy to report that I have figured out how to publish my blog to my own domain name! Woo hoo!

I've owned the domain, RaisingFive.com for probably two years, and I figured out how to get it to forward to my blogspot web address. But I couldn't get it to "mask" the blogspot address (and by golly, I wasn't about to pay someone to help me!!). And that's where it's hung for months. Until now. It was just a small setting I needed to change.

Anyway, Blogger is still my "publisher," so Blogger will forward bookmarks and subscriptions from my "blogspot" web address (www.raisingfive.blogspot.com) to my new web address (http://www.raisingfive.com/).

You can update them to the new address if you just want to (you probably have your spices alphabetized, don't you?), but really, don't have to do anything at all!

It feels like buying my first house. Ah, a permanent address!

Coffee's on! Come on over and stay a while! What kind of cookies shall we make?

Good job on getting that all set up. I know so little about this whole thing :)

Congrats! Just out of curiosity...
1) What's the point of having a domain name instead of using blogspot? Does this just make it easier to share with others or something?
2) How in the world did you do this???? Can you give us all some pointers?
Thanks! Great job!
