Spring in Texas...

Loving this time of year here. You never know about Texas. We might have another ice storm next week, so I'm determined to enjoy our momentarily beautiful weather that's made the first flowers of spring appear especially early. It's our first spring in this house, so I was pleased when these little guys popped up in the front flower beds:

And their larger cousins:

I've never smelled such a deliciously spring fragrance as peach blossoms:
I had to cut a few of these and put them in water in my house to enjoy them up-close. I also cut a few branches off my pear tree, hoping to force them to bloom early indoors. They make a striking centerpiece, even if I do say so.

Of course, we're a ways off from "true" spring, and even farther away from summer. I know how lucky I am to have a few recent (and totally goofy!) memories of tropical weather to hold me over until then...Ahh....and we wonder why our kids are crazy...

No way! You did NOT jump off of there?! Oh my goodness. I am having heart palpitations at the thought of how dangerous that is. LOL. I'm sorry, I'm such a fraidy cat. I can't believe you jumped. No I can't!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I think our kids need to remember that we do have a fun side to us--we're not always rules and regulations. Plus, it's good when we can remind ourselves of that same thing too.

That was you??? I thought it was your kids at first and I had to reread it and look closely. Good for you! It is so easy to just go through life without actually enjoying it. Maureen
