What to do...

This is the first week this summer in which I haven't (a) been at camp; (b) taken kids [almost] daily to VBS or a sports camp; or (c) gotten a child ready to go to Africa.

This week, all I have to do is wait impatiently for our single, solitary, pitifully undetailed daily text message from Allie-15's group in Africa plan a sleepover for Annie-8's birthday. What a breeze!

Let's see. I know I had some things I wanted to get done this, what were they? Painting? Renovating? Landscaping? Redecorating?

But first:

We need to eat. Yes, that's a good goal. Anybody know if we have any food? I guess I'll be going to the store.

And we really should be able to find stuff. Sigh. I guess I need to do some cleaning. And some laundry. Oh, and that garage...and have you looked under the sink lately? Or in the kids' closets? UGH!

Hey, and how did the yard get so out of hand? I really should pull some weeds before I kill plant anything else.

Wait a minute! There are MORE peaches still in my fridge? You have got to be kidding.

Well, there goes my week. Big plans can wait, I suppose. And maybe all these little mindless busy-ness items will keep me occupied so I don't get weepy like I did yesterday when I saw my daughter's NAME on a stinkin' text message.

I can dream, can't I?

hey, it's good you've got all those pesky things to do--mercy from God so you're not thinking about Allie! =)
Which, by the way, I am sure she is FINE. More than fine--thriving and learning many lessons about the world and about the Lord.
Love you!

I spent three summers in High School away on overseas missions trips. I think it was way harder on my mom than on me. Praying for you today (and for Allie :)
